Our Story

Raising all the things, even bears.

We are a Texas sized family with 10 kids that decided to make the move from the big city of Houston to the country in central Texas... in the middle of a pandemic.  We are so thankful that God made a way for us to be near our family and that we have the opportunity to live out the dream of a homestead that had been growing in our hearts for some time.

We live on just under three acres and hope to slowly grow a small homestead and hobby farm.  To date, we have multiple Great Pyrenees and a goat named Bowzer.  We had some hiccups in our construction endeavors that lead to some delays on getting started, but we now have a chicken coop with 12 chickens and 2 turkeys.  We are also in our first year of gardening with a brand new Vego Garden.

We hope to have more goats, chickens, meat chickens, ducks, a few pigs (if I can talk my hubby into it), and a garden that helps us with the grocery budget.

Did I mention we have seven teenagers that have a huge appetite?  We might be moving slow but we are enjoying the process.  We have learned so much in this last year and are thankful for our growing YouTube family that we continually learn from.

When we aren't working on our homestead we are homeschooling our kids, building friendships here in our new hometown, supporting our adoption community, advocating for those with different abilities, and taking it a day at a time - being thankful for new mercies from our Lord each morning.

Join us for our journey from city to country.  Follow along as we jump into learning all the things we never dreamed we would want to know about - meat chickens being at the top of that list.  God is in the details and we are so thankful for this life we are building together.  Thank you for your support as we tackle this new and exciting journey.
